On a robot that mops, a rug is a question for the mop as much as for the suction. The makers build two mechanisms for it, often both on one machine: the mop lifts and crosses the rug raised, or it stays at the dock while the robot vacuums the rug dry. A machine with neither leaves the no-mop zones in the app, or taking the pad off by hand.
