Our verdict

The X12 OmniCyclone is the DEEBOT for people who would rather empty a bin than buy bags. Its OmniCyclone station spins the dust into a 1.6-litre container rated for up to 48 days, with a scraper ring to clear the walls. The robot carries the OZMO ROLLER 3.0: a 27 cm roller rinsed with heated fresh water, pushed 2.58 cm towards the skirting by TruEdge 3.0 and lifted 15 mm under a cover on carpet. FocusJet is new: an infrared sensor finds dried-on stains, which the robot sprays with diluted solution first. Suction is 22,000 Pa, below the T90 PRO OMNI's 30,000, but airflow is 22 l/s against its 16. It climbs 2.4 cm sills and 4 cm double steps, sees with an RGBD camera, takes voice commands and weighs 5.5 kg. Ecovacs prints no wash temperature or runtime, and its charging time reads 2 h 25 min on the spec lists but about 4 h in the manual.

Pros

  • 22 l/s of airflow behind a ZeroTangle 4.0 brush, more than the T90 PRO OMNI's 16
  • 27 cm roller rinsed with heated fresh water, extending 2.58 cm and lifting 15 mm under a cover
  • Bagless 1.6 l cyclone bin for up to 48 days, 63 °C drying and tank refill
  • FocusJet: an infrared stain sensor and a pre-treatment spray for dried-on spots
  • Voice control, 2.4 cm sills and 4 cm double steps

Cons

  • 22,000 Pa, below the 30,000 of the T90 PRO OMNI
  • No wash temperature or runtime published, and the charging time differs between spec list and manual
  • 98 mm tall, 3 mm more than the T90 models
  • Louder on paper: 64.4 dB against the T90 PRO OMNI's 60, and 75.3 dB while the station empties

Best for

  • Owners who would rather rinse a cyclone bin than buy dust bags
  • Kitchens and hallways with dried-on spills, which FocusJet pre-treats

Not recommended for

  • Buyers who rank robots by pascals: the T90 MAX PRO OMNI has 40,000
  • Furniture with less than 98 mm of clearance

In detail

Suction and brushes

The manufacturer rates the suction at 22,000 Pa. That is about the middle of the field. The main brush is the tangle-resistant type, with one side brush. On carpet the suction rises automatically. The onboard bin holds 250 ml.

Mopping

Mop system: washed roller. It lifts the mop 15 mm over carpet. The mop swings out to reach along walls. The onboard water tank holds 110 ml.

Navigation and obstacles

It navigates by LiDAR and avoids obstacles with camera + depth sensor. It climbs thresholds up to 24 mm. That is about the middle of the field. No-go zones can be drawn in the app.

The dock

The dock empties the bin, washes and dries the mop and refills the water tank. The dust bag lasts about 48 days.

Battery, charging and noise

The manufacturer states 64 dB. That is higher than most of the 8 robot vacuums with a published figure. The manufacturer publishes no runtime figure.
