Our verdict
The Q7 L5 is the dockless model beside the Q7 L5+: it charges on a plain 160 × 70 × 101 mm dock, and Roborock's FAQ says it cannot empty itself even when set on an L5+ base. It vacuums at 8,000 Pa through a JawScrapers-comb main brush and an anti-tangle side brush, Roborock claims a 95% hair pick-up rate, and suction rises on carpet. The mop is a flat pad that neither vibrates nor rotates, fed by an electric tank with three flow levels that shares one module with the dust bin. PreciSense LiDAR keeps up to three maps and builds the first one in a quick-mapping run. There is no obstacle sensor, so cables and socks meet the bumper. The 3,200 mAh battery charges from 20 to 100% in three to four hours, the robot weighs 3.3 kg, and no runtime, noise, bin or tank figure is given; the warranty is two years in Germany and Poland. The Q7 M5 is the same idea with 10,000 Pa.
Pros
- LiDAR mapping with three maps and a quick first mapping run
- Anti-tangle brushes with a comb, 95% hair pick-up claimed
- Electric water tank with three flow levels
- Small: 325 mm across, 99 mm tall, 3.3 kg
Cons
- No obstacle sensor
- Flat pad that neither lifts, vibrates nor rotates
- 8,000 Pa, no self-emptying and no runtime published
- Three to four hours to charge from 20%
Best for
- Tidy flats with hard floors
- A second robot for an upstairs floor
Not recommended for
- Floors with cables, socks or toys
- Anyone who wants the robot to empty itself, even later on an L5+ dock

In detail
Suction and brushes
The manufacturer rates the suction at 8,000 Pa. That is less than most of the 105 robot vacuums we list. The main brush is the tangle-resistant type, with one side brush. On carpet the suction rises automatically.
Mopping
Mop system: static pad. The mop does not lift for carpet.
Navigation and obstacles
It navigates by LiDAR and avoids obstacles with none. It stores 3 floor plans. No-go zones can be drawn in the app.
The dock
There is no self-emptying dock: the bin is emptied by hand.
Battery, charging and noise
The manufacturer publishes neither a runtime nor a noise figure.

Where to buy
Prices are read every night from the manufacturers' shops that list the machine, and shown as read. A price no read has confirmed for several days is marked with the day it was last seen. Where a week or more of readings exists, the lowest we recorded in the last 30 days is stated as well. RoboVerdict may earn a commission when you buy through links on our site.
