Our verdict

The D20 Pro Plus is the self-emptying sibling of the D20 Pro, a separate model built for a dock that takes the bin off your hands. The dock empties the 500 ml bin into a 5 litre bag that Dreame rates for up to 150 days, and that is all it does: no mop washing, no refilling. The robot has what makes the D20 Pro worth having: a laser distance sensor that maps, 13,000 Pa behind a DuoBrush certified tangle-free, an ultrasonic sensor that raises suction on carpet, a side brush that extends into corners, a single line laser that spots obstacles, and 285 minutes of vacuuming and mopping from 5,200 mAh. The mop is a flat pad on a 350 ml tank with 32 wetness levels; it does not lift, so rugs need a no-mop zone. It crosses 20 mm sills, stands 96.9 mm tall and weighs 3.58 kg. The American page prints a 3-year warranty and the German one no term; neither gives a map count or noise figure, and the manual puts a full charge at about six hours.

Pros

  • Self-emptying into a 5 l bag for up to 150 days
  • Line-laser obstacle sensing and a side brush that extends into corners
  • 285 minutes from 5,200 mAh
  • Tangle-free DuoBrush with an ultrasonic carpet boost
  • 500 ml bin and 350 ml tank

Cons

  • Flat mop pad that does not lift
  • The dock only empties: no mop washing, no refilling
  • No map count or noise figure published

Best for

  • Hard-floor homes where emptying the bin is the chore to drop
  • Large flats, where 285 minutes cover a lot of floor

Not recommended for

  • Homes with rugs and a daily mopping routine
  • Anyone who wants the mop washed for them

In detail

Suction and brushes

The manufacturer rates the suction at 13,000 Pa. That is less than most of the 107 robot vacuums we list. The main brush is the tangle-resistant type, with one side brush. On carpet the suction rises automatically. The onboard bin holds 500 ml.

Mopping

Mop system: static pad. The mop does not lift for carpet. The onboard water tank holds 350 ml.

Navigation and obstacles

It navigates by LiDAR and avoids obstacles with structured light. It climbs thresholds up to 20 mm. That is less than most of the 66 robot vacuums with a published figure. No-go zones can be drawn in the app.

The dock

The dock empties the bin. The dust bag lasts about 150 days.

Battery, charging and noise

The 75 Wh battery runs up to 4 h 45 min on one charge. A full charge takes about 6 h. The manufacturer publishes no noise figure.

Prices are read every night from the manufacturers' shops that list the machine, and shown as read. A price no read has confirmed for several days is marked with the day it was last seen. Where a week or more of readings exists, the lowest we recorded in the last 30 days is stated as well. RoboVerdict may earn a commission when you buy through links on our site.
