Ordered by the published climbing height, highest first, with the weighted score deciding between equal figures; a machine that publishes no height is not on the list. The figure is the maker's stated maximum for one hard step, taken straight on. A 2 cm rug edge is not what it measures, and most machines cross one regardless; a 3 or 4 cm sill between the hall and the kitchen is exactly what it measures. A 3 cm sill is within the rating of every machine here, a 4 cm sill of those rated 40 mm or more, a 5 cm sill only of those rated 50 mm or more.
