Our verdict
The Saros 20 Sonic is the Saros 20 for people who trust a spinning LiDAR more than a solid-state ToF array and a vibrating pad more than two spinning ones. The motor is the same 36,000 Pa and the body the same 80 mm, but the turret is a RetractSense LiDAR that lowers itself to pass under furniture, and the mop is VibraRise 5.0, a single extending pad pressed down at 14 N that vibrates against the floor rather than a pair of discs. Its cleverest trick is in the dock: the mop attachment comes off and is washed at 100 °C while the robot keeps vacuuming, then dried at 55 °C along with the dust bag and the dust path. Reactive AI 3.0 reads obstacles with a tri-laser pattern, an RGB camera and a side laser, and the AdaptiLift chassis climbs a 4.5 cm sill or an 8.8 cm double step. At €999 it undercuts the Saros 20, and Roborock publishes 63 dB for mixed mode and 55 dB for mopping alone. It does not publish a bin, a tank, a runtime or a suction boost for carpet, and the mop lift height is not stated.
