Our verdict
The D30 Ultra CE is the cheapest way into Dreame's PowerDock 2.0 in America, and the dock is the reason to look at it: 20 high-temperature nozzles scrub the twin spinning mops, the pads dry in room air at a quiet 37 dB, the robot refills from a 4.5 l tank and the bin empties into a 3.2 l bag for 100 days. The robot behind it is sensible rather than exciting: 25,000 Pa from a rubber brush, with the hair-cutting TriCut sold separately, mops that lift 10.5 mm for carpet with a boost and an intensive mode, LiDAR mapping for four floors and 3DAdapt laser sensing that steers round furniture but recognises nothing, and 2 cm thresholds. It weighs 3.82 kg, runs on a 5,200 mAh battery with no published runtime, takes Google and Siri commands and carries a three-year warranty. Dreame prints no dimensions or noise figure for the robot itself. The L40 Ultra Gen 2 adds the TriCut brush, extending mops and hot-air drying, so check which of the two is cheaper on the day before choosing this one.

Suction and brushes
The manufacturer rates the suction at 25,000 Pa. That is about the middle of the field. The main brush is the rubber type, with one side brush. On carpet the suction rises automatically.
Mopping
Mop system: twin spinning pads. It lifts the mop 10 mm over carpet.
Navigation and obstacles
It navigates by LiDAR and avoids obstacles with structured light. It stores 4 floor plans. It climbs thresholds up to 20 mm. That is less than most of the 71 robot vacuums with a published figure. No-go zones can be drawn in the app.
The dock
The dock empties the bin, washes and dries the mop and refills the water tank. The dust bag lasts about 100 days.
