Our verdict

The W2 PRO is the Winbot without the station, and for a lot of windows that is the sensible purchase. It sprays from six nozzles, plans its route with WIN-SLAM 4.0 and picks up where it stopped after an interruption, returns to where you put it on, detects a frame from 2 mm and an obstacle from 4 mm, and was first to offer a dedicated edge-cleaning mode. It holds on with 5,300 Pa in standard mode, 2,800 while moving, compensates the pressure automatically and keeps its grip for 30 minutes if the power fails, on a 3,000 mAh internal battery. You steer it omnidirectionally from the app, it talks, and at 1.8 kg with a 6 m rope and a 5.5 m cord it is an easy machine to manage. What it lacks is what the OMNI models add: no battery station, so a socket within 6.7 m is a must, a 60 ml tank rated for 40 m², and no corner claim.

Pros

  • Seven modes on a planned route that resumes after interruption and returns to start
  • Frame detection from 2 mm, obstacle detection from 4 mm
  • Pressure compensation and 30 minutes of grip after a power cut
  • Omnidirectional app control and voice prompts, 63 dB
  • The cheapest W2, with a two-year warranty

Cons

  • 5,300 Pa in standard mode, the lowest of the Winbots here
  • Needs a socket: 5.5 m cord plus 1.2 m mains lead, no battery station
  • 60 ml tank rated for 40 m², no corner claim
  • Ecovacs states no maximum pane size

Best for

  • Ground-floor and interior glass close to a socket
  • Anyone who wants the Winbot route planning at the lowest price

Not recommended for

  • Balconies and rooms without a socket, where the OMNI station pays for itself
  • Very large panes, where the 60 ml tank runs dry
