Our verdict

The mini 2 keeps the MINI's 215 mm square and 55 mm height and fixes most of what it lacked. Suction goes from 7,500 to 8,000 Pa and 3,400 Pa on the move, with pressure compensation that reacts in 0.04 s; the planner moves up to WIN-SLAM 4.0 with resume, return to start and obstacles detected from 2 mm; and felt brushes at all four corners spin at up to 84 rpm to clean to 1 mm from the frame. An ultrasonic atomiser mists from four nozzles out of a 50 ml tank rated for 30 m². A 3,000 mAh internal battery holds it on for 30 minutes after a power cut, the 3.3 m rope is rated to 1,900 N on the German page and 1,600 N on the US one, and at 1.3 kg it is as light as the N1. It stays corded, 3.5 m from the power unit plus a 1.2 m mains lead, and Ecovacs prints no noise figure, no speed beyond about 2 min 30 s per square metre and no voice prompts.

Pros

  • Fits panes from 25 × 25 cm; 215 mm square, 55 mm high, 1.3 kg
  • 8,000 Pa with pressure compensation reacting in 0.04 s, 30-minute power-cut reserve
  • Corner brushes at all four corners, to 1 mm from the frame, 90% coverage
  • WIN-SLAM 4.0 with resume, return to start and obstacle detection from 2 mm
  • Two-year warranty; the cheapest Winbot alongside the MINI

Cons

  • Corded: 3.5 m from the power unit plus a 1.2 m mains lead
  • About 2 min 30 s per square metre, and a 50 ml tank rated for 30 m²
  • No noise figure and no voice prompts stated for this model
  • Mode count unclear: seven in the spec list, six in the Canadian title, five in the US copy

Best for

  • Windows with glazing bars, bathroom glass and shower screens
  • A first window robot for a flat with a socket near the glass

Not recommended for

  • Large windows and patio doors, where 30 m² a fill and two and a half minutes a square metre add up
  • Rooms without a socket

In detail

Cleaning

It sprays water from a 50 ml tank and cleans about 30 m² per fill. It has 7 cleaning modes. It reaches into corners.

Grip and fit

Suction of 8,000 Pa keeps it on the glass, with pressure compensation. It detects the pane edge, so frameless glass is fine.

Safety

After a power cut it holds on for 30 minutes. A safety rope is included.

Navigation and control

It plans its path, resumes after an interruption, returns to where it started and steers round obstacles. It comes with a remote. The cable reaches 3.5 m.

Prices are read every night from the manufacturers' shops that list the machine, and shown as read. A price no read has confirmed for several days is marked with the day it was last seen. Where a week or more of readings exists, the lowest we recorded in the last 30 days is stated as well. RoboVerdict may earn a commission when you buy through links on our site.
