Our verdict
What the AquaSense 2 sells is the end of the wade. When it finishes, or when the battery runs low, it surfaces and waits at the edge; every earlier pool robot sat on the floor of the deep end until you went in after it. The cleaning underneath is solid rather than remarkable — floor, walls and the waterline on a 5,500-GPH pump with a two-litre basket, navigated by ultrasonic sensing rather than a map — and Beatbot does not publish the filter fineness or the runtime. If you have a pool up to about 300 m² and no interest in fishing, this is where the category starts.
