Sora 30
The sensible Beatbot: floor, walls, waterline and shallow platforms, a five-litre basket, S-shaped paths, and it floats to the surface when done — for under $700.

Our verdict
The Sora 30 does the part of the AquaSense 2 that matters — it surfaces on its own when the job is finished — and adds a bigger pump, a five-litre basket and the ability to clean shallow platforms and steps from eight inches of water, at a lower price. It gives up the AquaSense line's smarter sensing for S-shaped floor paths with ultrasonic obstacle avoidance, which is fine in a plain rectangle and less so in a freeform pool with a kidney bend. Two-year warranty, IPX68, and a stated 300 m² rating. Runtime and filter fineness are not published, and it does not skim the surface.
Pros
- Floats to the surface when finished — no wading
- Cleans shallow platforms and steps from 8 in of water
- 6,800 GPH pump and a five-litre basket
- Two-year warranty and IPX68, at under $700
Cons
- S-shaped paths rather than a map — weaker in freeform pools
- Runtime and filter fineness are not published
- No surface skimming
- 4.5-hour charge
Best for
- Rectangular pools with steps or a tanning ledge
- Buyers who want the self-surfacing trick without the flagship price
Not recommended for
- Complex freeform pools where coverage depends on mapping
- Leaf-heavy pools that need surface skimming
