Our verdict
The Z1 is the Z1 Pro minus three things, and Dreame lists them itself: no LiFi remote, no tanning ledge cleaning and 180 m² instead of 200. Everything else carries over. The 8,000 GPH pump, about 30,300 l/h, with two motors and dual brushes cleans the floor, climbs the walls and works the waterline horizontally; ultrasound and 3D structured light map the pool and steer round obstacles; it runs more than 180 minutes, charges on a magnetic charger in four to six hours, parks at the poolside when it finishes and takes the Dreamehome app when it is above water. The gaps are the same too: no basket volume, weight, size, ingress rating or warranty term, and a 180 μm filter. The problem is the price. Dreame's American shop asks $499 for the Z1 and $429 for the Z1 Pro, so as long as that holds the Pro is the one to buy, and the Z1 only makes sense if the gap closes.
