Our verdict
The Z1 is the Z1 Pro minus three things, and Dreame's own FAQ names them: no LiFi remote, no tanning ledge cleaning and 180 m² instead of 200. Everything else carries over. The 8,000 GPH pump, about 30,300 l/h, with two motors and dual brushes cleans the floor, climbs the walls and works the waterline horizontally; ultrasound and 3D structured light map the pool and steer round obstacles; a charge lasts more than 180 minutes, the magnetic charger takes four to six hours, it parks at the poolside when done and takes the Dreamehome app above water. The gaps are the same too: no basket volume, weight, size, ingress rating or warranty term, and a 180 μm filter. The catch is the price. In Dreame's American shop the Z1 lists above the Z1 Pro; while that holds the Pro is the one to buy, and the Z1 only makes sense if the gap closes.
