Our verdict
The Sora 70 is the cheapest Beatbot that cleans the surface, and it does it the useful way round: twin JetPulse jets pull leaves toward the intake rather than pushing them away, for up to seven hours on the 10,000 mAh battery, and when the surface is clear it dives for floor, walls and waterline, or ledges in 20 cm of water, for up to five. The pump is the family's 6,800 GPH, about 25,700 l/h, into a 6 l basket with a 150 μm mesh and an optional 3 μm one, eight motors drive four roller brushes in two groups, and two ultrasonic sensors among 18 plan S-shaped passes around obstacles. It parks itself floating at the edge when it is done, fetches on one app tap, and takes remote control while on the surface. It charges in about four and a half hours through a titanium plug, so there is no dock, it weighs 10.4 kg, it is rated for 300 m² and IPX68, and the warranty is three years. Against the AquaSense 2 Ultra it gives up the camera, the clarifier and 60 m² for $1,200 less.
