Our verdict
The LUBA 2's one real weakness was the RTK antenna: a mast that needed clear sky, a mounting point and power, and which decided whether the machine worked in your garden at all. The LUBA 3 removes it. Positioning now comes from 360° LiDAR, network RTK over the bundled 4G, and two cameras working together, which is also why it keeps tracking under trees and after dark where a satellite-only machine loses its fix. Everything else that made the LUBA line the answer for difficult ground is unchanged: all-wheel drive, an 80% slope rating and a 400 mm deck. It is still expensive, it still leaves an uncut strip at the lawn edge, and at 70 cm it still will not fit down a narrow path.
