Our verdict
The LUBA 2's one real weakness was its RTK antenna, a mast that needed clear sky, a mounting point and power. The LUBA 3 does without it: positioning comes from a 360° LiDAR with a 70 m range, network RTK over the bundled 4G and two cameras working together, which is why it keeps its place under trees and after dark where a satellite-only mower loses its fix. The 5000 is the largest of the three sizes, with a 15 Ah battery for 215 minutes and 1,700 m² a charge, 50 zones and 165 W motors on the 400 mm twin-disc deck. All-wheel drive and the 80% slope rating carry over from the LUBA 2, and so do the limits: no edge cutting, a 70 cm minimum passage, 19 kg and 70 dB at work. It is the machine for a large, sloped or wooded plot, and an expensive one.

Lawn and terrain
The manufacturer rates it for lawns up to 5,000 m². That is the highest of the 52 robot mowers we list. It climbs slopes up to 80% (39°). That is more than 71% of the 52 robot mowers we list. It can manage up to 50 zones. The narrowest passage it takes is 70 cm wide. All of its wheels are driven.
Navigation
It positions itself with RTK-GNSS + vision + LiDAR. No boundary wire is needed. Obstacles: camera + LiDAR fusion. GPS tracking and a 4G module are built in.
Cutting
The cutting width is 400 mm and the height adjusts from 25 to 70 mm. It cuts with 12 blades.
Battery, charging and noise
The 324 Wh battery runs up to 3 h 35 min on one charge. A full charge takes about 2 h 25 min. The manufacturer states 70 dB. That is higher than most of the 45 robot mowers with a published figure.
Safety and theft
It stops the blades when lifted or tilted, returns to the dock in rain, carries anti-theft protection and locks with a PIN. Weather sealing: IPX6.
