Our verdict
Dreame's A3 AWD takes the LiDAR-first approach the A1 pioneered and puts it on four driven wheels. There is no RTK to set up and no satellite fix to lose: the 360° LiDAR reads the garden out to 50 m and two cameras identify what it sees, so the machine maps itself on the first run and keeps working under trees and at dusk. Eighty per cent slopes, 5.5 cm obstacles and a 60 cm passage width make it more capable than its 1,000 m² rating suggests, and EdgeMaster pushes the disc out to leave under 5 cm at a border. The deck is a modest 200 mm, Dreame publishes neither a runtime nor a charging time, and the 4G data is free for one year rather than three. Sold through Dreame's US store; the European shops list only the Pro.
