Our verdict
The original AquaSense is where Beatbot started, and its spec table shows what came later. It cleans the floor in S-shaped passes and the walls and waterline in N-shaped ones, steered by two ultrasonic sensors and two gyroscopes among 15, and draws 5,500 GPH, about 20,800 l/h, through a single 2 l polyester basket with a 150 μm mesh. It is rated for 210 m², sealed to IP68, drains itself on lifting and weighs 9.3 kg. What it does not do is come back: with no surface parking it waits on the floor of the deep end, and it charges from a plug, not a dock, with three motors where the AquaSense 2 Ultra has eleven. Runtime and charging time for the 6,700 mAh battery are not published. Next to the AquaSense 2, which parks at the surface and is rated for 300 m², the original only makes sense at a clear discount.
