Our verdict
The original AquaSense is where Beatbot started, and its table shows what the later models added. It cleans the floor in S-shaped passes and the walls and waterline in N-shaped ones, guided by two ultrasonic sensors and two gyroscopes among 15, and it draws 5,500 GPH, about 20,800 l/h, through a single 2 l polyester basket with a 150 μm mesh. It is rated for 210 m², sealed to IP68, drains itself when you lift it out, and weighs 9.3 kg. What it does not do is come back to you: there is no surface parking, so it waits on the floor of the deep end, it charges from a plug rather than a dock, and it has three motors where the AquaSense 2 Ultra has eleven. Beatbot publishes neither runtime nor charging time for the 6,700 mAh battery. At $799 it costs exactly what the AquaSense 2 does, and the 2 adds surface parking and 300 m² for the same money, so the original only makes sense at a real discount.
