LUBA 2 AWD 5000
All-wheel-drive flagship rated for 80% slopes and 5,000 m², with RTK positioning and camera-based obstacle recognition.
Review method: Specification analysis
Our verdict
The most capable machine here for difficult ground. All-wheel drive and an 80% slope rating put it in a class of its own on banks and terraces, and RTK plus vision keeps it tracking accurately across large plots. The trade-offs are real: a reference antenna has to be sited with clear sky view, and the deck leaves an uncut strip at the lawn edge.
Pros
- 80% slope rating with all-wheel drive — the highest in this catalogue
- Covers up to 5,000 m² on RTK positioning without any boundary wire
- 400 mm cutting deck, the widest of the wire-free machines here
- Camera-based obstacle recognition rather than a bumper alone
- 4G, GPS tracking and PIN lock as standard
Cons
- No edge cutting — a border strip still needs trimming by hand
- Requires a fixed RTK antenna with an unobstructed view of the sky
- Among the most expensive machines in the category
- 800 mm minimum passage width rules out narrow garden paths
Best for
- Sloped, terraced or banked gardens
- Large plots above 2,000 m²
- Owners who want no perimeter wire at all
Not recommended for
- Small courtyard lawns where the price cannot be justified
- Gardens with narrow passages under 800 mm
- Anyone who wants a finished edge without follow-up trimming
