Our verdict
The i215 is the i2 LiDAR sized for the typical European garden. It positions by LiDAR and camera alone, so it needs no antenna, wire or view of the sky, and maps the lawn itself; against the LiDAR Pro it gives up network RTK and three-wheel drive, keeping rear-wheel drive, off-road tyres and a 45% slope rating. EdgeSense ride-on edge cutting, 200+ recognised obstacles at 1 cm, twenty zones, a 3 cm step, GPS tracking, a PIN and a colour screen are here. The 7.65 Ah battery gives 426 m² and 160 minutes a charge with 130 minutes to recharge, hence Segway's sixteen hours for 1,500 m². It weighs 14.7 kg, runs at 59 dB, is IP66-rated and has a three-year warranty; cellular data is free for the first year only. The i220 above it carries a 10 Ah battery for 2,000 m², the i208 below it covers 800 m².

The manufacturer rates it for lawns up to 1,500 m². That is about the middle of the field. It climbs slopes up to 45% (24°). That is less than most of the 52 robot mowers we list. It can manage up to 20 zones. Two wheels are driven.
Navigation
It positions itself with Vision + LiDAR. No boundary wire is needed. Obstacles: camera + LiDAR fusion. GPS tracking and a 4G module are built in.
Cutting
The cutting width is 220 mm and the height adjusts from 20 to 70 mm. It cuts with 6 blades. It trims along the edges.
Battery, charging and noise
