Our verdict

The ViAX 500 adds a 360-degree LiDAR to the ViAX cameras and gets a mapping allowance of 600 m² for it, whatever its name says. Two AI cameras with a wide field and a LiDAR out to 50 m map the lawn, recognise more than 300 objects and mow to the edge, with two maps and multiple zones. The cut is 20 cm wide at a dial-set 2 to 6 cm, the drive is front-wheel with a castor for 40% slopes and 4 cm obstacles, and the 4 Ah battery runs 90 to 100 minutes for 120 m², or 150 in the power mode, then charges in an hour. TrueGuard tracks the mower on live video, detects people, patrols and alarms when it is lifted or leaves the map, with an AirTag slot; the 4G module is optional. It is sealed to IPX6 and runs under 57 dB, and MOVA publishes no dimensions or weight. At €549 in Germany it is €150 under the LiDAX Ultra 800 for a slightly smaller rating and a smaller battery.
